General
Where are your products made?
All custom and home products are handmade in the Netherlands, in small batches. I work slowly and intentionally, which means I can pay close attention to detail – from first cut to final stitch. The ready-made leather and wool felt collection is handmade in India – this was also produced in small batches and are dyed with natural drums.
What materials do you use?
I use premium natural materials like buffalo leather, pure wool felt, and stoneware clay. Each material is chosen for its durability, tactile quality, and honest beauty. No synthetic blends, no compromises.
Are your products sustainable?
Yes. Sustainability is at the heart of every decision in the process.
-
Timeless design that lasts for years
-
Small-batch production, no mass or overproduction
-
Natural, durable materials without harmful chemicals
-
Waste-conscious approach, including reuse of leftover leather
Timelessness is the most powerful kind of sustainability. Because if you truly love what you own, you take care of it, and you keep it.
Custom design
Do you take custom orders?
Absolutely. I offer custom products for both individuals and businesses. For companies, I create items like branded felt sleeves or leather accessories – tailored to your identity. For individuals, I occasionally take on bespoke projects, as long as it meets the MOQ. Think about projects for weddings or special birthdays. Learn more about custom design.
Why is custom work the sustainable choice?
A custom piece fits you perfectly – in use, in taste, in intention. That means you’ll use it longer and care for it better. Combined with durable, natural materials, custom work becomes a lasting, waste-free alternative to mass production.
Are custom bags made from waste leather?
Mostly, yes. I repurpose leftover leather from large manufacturers. These are beautiful hides that would otherwise go to waste. This results in unique pieces, sometimes with natural markings or scars that tell a story of their own.
How will the process of custom design go?
The process starts with a conversation about your needs, your ideas, and what you’re looking for. Whether you have a clear vision or just a feeling, I’ll help translate that into a design that fits you or your brand perfectly.
Once we’ve aligned on the design direction, I’ll source the right materials. I’ll often use leftover or surplus leather, making the piece both unique and sustainable. I’ll then create the patterns, cut the materials, and handcraft the product in my studio.
Before production begins, you’ll always receive a clear design proposal. Once approved, I’ll start making your item. Fully by hand, with attention to every detail. If you’re located near Gouda (NL), I can even deliver the final piece in person. Otherwise, it will be carefully packaged and shipped to you. Every custom item is made with care and intention – not just to match your taste, but to last for years.
Leather care
What is nubuck buffalo leather?
Nubuck is a strong, full-grain leather with a lightly sanded surface. It’s quite velvety soft to the touch. Buffalo leather is even stronger than cowhide, holds its shape well, and develops a deep, personal patina over time.
Do I need to treat my leather bag?
It’s not necessary, but I’d highly advise it. Nubuck has an open structure and can be prone to staining. Caring for it extends its life. Use a dirt- and water-repellent spray monthly to protect the nubuck. Over time, the surface will wear in beautifully – that’s part of its charm.
How do I treat nubuck leather?
Spray monthly with a nubuck-protecting spray (like Collonil Suede & Nubuck Spray). Rub it in gently with a nubuck block, and brush occasionally to restore the velvety texture.
How do I clean leather with a coating?
Use a spray like Collonil Carbon Pro monthly. For stains: use lukewarm water and a soft cloth, or mild soapy water if needed. It’s important to be gentle with this process.
How do I remove oil stains from nubuck?
Oil stains are probably the hardest stains to remove from nubuck leather.
Immediately cover the stain with baby powder. Let it sit for a day (or two) to absorb the oil. Then gently brush it off with a nubuck block. Repeat if needed.
Wool felt care
What is wool felt?
Wool felt is made by wet-felting wool fibers until they lock together. The wool felt I use is 100% natural, breathable, insulating, and even flame-resistant. Strong yet soft, which makes it ideal for sleeves and protective covers.
How do I clean wool felt?
Wool felt is naturally quite dirt repellent. Use a cloth with lukewarm water and wool detergent. Gently blot out stains – don’t rub hard or wring the fabric. Let it air dry naturally.
What do I do when my wool felt starts pilling?
Pilling is natural. You can remove pills by gently picking them off or using a fabric shaver or scissors. This won’t damage the material.
